simple requests for website.
im sure this would be extremely easy for Anet to implement and im sure many people would agree with me.
1.put community news on front page of guildwars.com
why is network news on the front page next to game updates nobody really cares about network news so im asking for it to switch places with community news because its kind of annoying clicking on the gw player to see if there is anything new on the community.
2.tell us about new Anet employees and former employees.
i know this seems unimportant but many people suspect that the list of all the employees on arena.net is extremely outdated to the point where former employees are still listed and new employees are not listed, are the new employees ok with not being listed on the site? and are former employees ok with still being listed on the site?
3.official boards.
i know this is probably not gonna happen but we all know that Anet is way to dependent on fansites because the official gw site really has no purpose when theres a whole bunch of fansites with more features then the official.
hopefully they can do this for the new guild wars 2 site.
and i dont think this will be a waste of money for Anet since ncsoft can cover all the bandwidth charges and such.
plus if every f2p game can afford official boards dont you think anet will be able to or ncsoft?

Yeah I agree with three. Why don't they have an official forum? WoW has their own official forum and it's mighty good.

my point exactly they also need to pimp out the official website because its way to empty WoW has a website loaded with a whole bunch of stuff so no1 uses wow fansites.

Forums require admins and mods. Fansites rely on volunteer mods.
It might be difficult to get volunteers to mod on an official GW forum. WoW has a monthly fee that could be used to pay mods and admins, making it more feasable to have a forum.
Or, maybe not.

I'd rather not deal with Anet totalitarianism like the WoW players have to deal with Blizzard, at least we have relatively (and I emphasize that word) impartial mods here.
People have been using Official Fansites for so long that not everyone would instantly migrate over to an Official Forum.
Oh, by the way, saying "Guild Wars has to get volunteers because they can't afford to pay people" is kind of... not true? Seriously, let's take 5,000,000 copies times ~35 USD (around the average-ish people have probably paid for the game) which would make 175,000,000USD. Combine that with other NCSoft (the company that owns Anet, if you weren't aware) games, like Lineage II, Auto Assault, Tabula Rasa, and City of Heroes/Villains, which have less population, but subscription fees, you can see that NCSoft/Anet probably isn't that strapped for cash.

You don't like this forum? I personally would like to stay here, but if more people go over to an "official" forum, then I'll eventually swap on over.

ncsoft is a multi-billion dollar company they can afford anything.
as for anet im pretty sure the new business plan for gw2 will give them enough funds to hire mods unless they use the plan runescape uses were they pick player mods and stuff

I don't have access to ANet's or NCSoft's financial records, but why pay for something that is provided free by the fansites? It makes better business sense to not spend money that isn't really needed.

you obiously dont understand the reason why thousands of gw players want official boards if u dont understand now u probably wont if i explain it to you.
edit: as i said before Anet probably wont pay a cent as ncsoft provides finance for bandwidth support.
edit2: if every f2p game can afford official boards dont u think anet will be able to or ncsoft?

This one worries me... Why do you need to know that information? Is it so that stalking the staff of ANet is easier for you?
Annoyed with them after a Nerf? Find their address on the website and beat them with a stick!
